Hello there! How was your weekend? Brett’s parents were in town so we spent the majority of our time catching up with them and eating very well. Brett and his family love to try different types of cuisines (something that was new to me when I started dating Brett over 7 years ago) so we went to Peking Gourmet Inn where you should get the full duck and Rus Uz which is Russian. Both are fantastic and unique environments so I definitely recommend if you are in Arlington, VA and feeling a little adventurous.
It was a cold weekend though so while we did make it outside for a long walk, we spent most of our time inside relaxing. We’ve also been talking about potentially buying a house so I’ve been busy looking at what’s out there around Northern Virginia. It is crazy how expensive it is around here so making the commitment to living in one place for a long period of time is kind of scary to think about!
Anyway – this look! It can be very hard to get anywhere near dressed up in January/February here in DC – especially with this cold winter we have been getting! However I am glad that some of the winter trends out right now make it easier to look put together but still warm for the weather.
The first amazing item that makes looking fashionable easy yet practical is this faux shearling jacket. Faux shearling and faux fur have been huge this season! I have barely worn my wool coat which I love but it can feel a little stuffy at times. Anyway, I have been loving this faux shearling moto that I picked up from The Fifth Label. It goes great with jeans and dresses. Also the price ain’t bad either! There are a few more options I linked below so be sure to check those out.
The other item is over-the-knee boots. I am glad I made the plunge on these over-the-knee boots last year because they are my go-tos when I want to look fashionable yet warm. They are so warm! They too go with dresses, skirts, and skinny jeans. I definitely recommend them if you live in a place that gets cold winters. I linked a few more over-the-knee options below that don’t break the bank below!
Hope you have a great start to the week!
