With the fall season upon us its not only time to snag a few new sweaters and boots – its also a great time to update your makeup! Even if you’re someone who doesn’t change up your makeup routine often, adding a new lip color or switching up your blush is essential for this time of year. Plus with the holidays coming up its fun to get a little more festive! Its funny how a little lip color will change your attitude. Here are 3 easy makeup updates you can make to your existing routine to give yourself an updated look for fall.
(For Work) Rosy Cheek + Satin Nude Lip: Work should be the place where you wear the most natural and professional makeup. A work look should include a tinted moisturizer (or foundation), concealer, a little bit of blush, mascara, and a neutral lip color. Easy. Switching up the color of your blush is something you should do as your skin starts to loose its summer color. I love the Chanel Powder Blush in Rose Petale on lighter skin and the color Evening Beige for medium to dark skin tones. I like this blush because its not overly pigmented and gives a more natural finish for daytime.
Having a simple moisturizing lip product with a touch of natural color is perfect for work. I love the Nars Velvet Lip Glide in Bound. It is an amazing formula that is super comfortable to wear. It is the perfect mix between a liquid lipstick and a moisturizing lip gloss.
(For Date Night or Girls Night Out) Shimmery Eye + Deep Rose Lip: For a date night or girls night out its so fun to play up your makeup a little more. If your not an eyeshadow pro but want to find an easy way to add some color to your eyes you need to try the Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Colour Sticks. I have a handful of colors I use all year round. For fall I love the Amethyst or Khaki color. It is super easy to apply – just line your lower lash line – building up the color however much you want – then blend with your finger.
For a pigmented plump lip you need to try Nars Audacious Lipstick. It is a really nice lipstick formula because it is hydrating but the color is pigmented enough to last a long time. I am wearing the shade “Anita” and I would suggest “Anna” or ” Raquel” for warmer tones. If anything you need to try out this lipstick – it is pretty incredible!
(For a Fall Wedding or Holiday Party) Eye Opening Liquid Liner + French Girl Red Lip: With fall weddings and the holidays just around the corner its time to think about an evening look for a fancier night out. To make your eyes pop use a clean and crisp liquid liner. I always have my Trish McEvoy Liquid Liner Pen with me when I am getting ready for a wedding. It makes it easy to draw a precise line and really makes your eyes look larger than they did before.
Who doesn’t love a red lip in the fall or around the holiday? After going to Paris a few weeks ago and seeing all the French girls looking tres chic doting their red lips I became hooked even more. I recently picked up this Nars Semi-Matte Lipstick in Fire Down Below as its a more “rusty/brownish” red so it really would look good on anyone. Any color with a hint of brown always makes for a universally flattering shade!
