I love kicking Monday off with a fresh new outfit post! We had a pretty low-key weekend over here. As always, the transition from fall to spring is always unpredictable…a crazy wind storm was enough to keep us inside the past two days. These pictures were literally taken in about 10 minutes or less right outside our apartment. It was freezing cold and windy! However, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again – I love an excuse to take it easy, check out from work, and re-energize myself for the week. It felt so good!
With the weather in limbo its the perfect time to pick up some new spring basic essentials you can wear now. My four basic spring essentials include:
#1 Good Denim: Don’t we all wear denim most days? I can’t get enough of my jeans which is why I think it’s important to get a good pair that works for you. If you’re looking for a comfortable pair of dark wash skinny jeans, I just picked up these 7’s jeans and while they are a splurge they have become my new favorite jeans because they are so comfortable and flattering. It’s important to find a pair of jeans that works for your body and makes you feel comfortable most of all.
#2 Versatile Knits: This is an area I’m lacking in recently but having a good set of knits to wear on their own and under cardigans or jackets are so critical for all you casual gals like myself. I recently popped into LOFT and Lou and Grey and found a few great comfortable long sleeve tees! I’ve already been getting a lot of use out of them.
#3 Lightweight Utility Jackets: I’m sure this is an item you already have in your wardrobe but if you don’t you should consider picking one up! There are so many brands that carry them with all different price points. I saw this one at Abercrombie in grey and knew it would be a great new addition to my collection of spring jackets. I already own a green utility jacket so I love how the grey color shakes it up a little bit. It will go with a lot of things in my closet and it’s just perfect for chillier spring days.
#4 A Comfortable Sneaker: My most worn flat at the beginning of spring is always a fresh new sneaker. I love a cute sneaker that will go with both dresses and pants. One of my favorite sneakers for achieving that are these Supera’s.
