Happy Friday! Wow didn’t this week feel like a long one? For me it did. Anyway, I am very glad it’s the weekend. What are your plans? I have another low key weekend ahead which I’m not complaining about one bit. Having zero plans on the calendar is much needed for this new puppy mama.
I thought I’d put together a lighthearted post filled with cute puppy pictures! About a month ago we had a little girls/puppy weekend with my dad and sister in Bethany Beach so I thought I’d share a few pictures from that as well as let you know what our favorite spots are in Bethany Beach, Rehoboth, and Fenwick in case you ever find yourself there this summer.
For the most part we keep it low key when we’re there – especially with puppies around now – but we do have a few favorite go-to places that are musts every summer. Summer wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t go to them!
*All of these are in Bethany minus The Ice Cream Store which is in Rehoboth
Kohr Bros – in downtown Bethany…although there are multiple locations of these. I love going here and getting frozen custard with rainbow sprinkles. Just like when I was a kid…
Maureen’s – a great place for real ice cream. Expect to wait in line here!
Dickey’s Frozen Custard – a local favorite! The custard is a little richer than Kohr’s but delicious nonetheless.
The Ice Cream Store – this is in Rehoboth as mentioned above. I love the names of the flavors here. Really cute..
Fast Food/Take Out:
*All of these are in Bethany except Nicola Pizza which is in Rehoboth but their pizza is the best in town!
Sandy Pony Donuts – we recently discovered this and I’m obsessed! Skip Dunkin Donuts and make the trip to this food truck. You won’t be disappointed.
Turtle Beach Cafe – we hardly make it out to breakfast but this place on the boardwalk has great breakfast sandwiches, bagels, etc.
Surf’s Up Subs – the best subs! Get the sweet peppers on anything and everything.
Grotto’s Pizza – a great go-to for a quick dinner with family. We love the Baker’s Dozen pizza.
DB’s Fries – my dad and I have a debate on who has the better french fries; DB’s or Thrashers. I didn’t grow up with Trashers so I’m DB’s all the way. They also have really yummy po boys of all different kinds.
Steamers Crab & Seafood – we recently picked up crabs here for my birthday celebration over the 4th and I highly recommend going here if you’re looking for a crab feast. These crabs are MEATY! We had so much leftover that we made crab soup the next day. High recommend. If you want to go to a sit-down spot then I recommend Mickey’s.
Nicola Pizza – this spot is in Rehoboth but it’s worth the mention, the hype, the wait, and even the drive in traffic. This place hasn’t changed one bit since we started going here when we were younger and I love that.
In Bethany Matt’s Fish Camp (a little off the beaten path as you have to drive here but great spot for simple fish dishes), Blue Coast (I love the ambiance here and there are really great views of the bayside. Another place you will need to drive to from the main part of Bethany), 99 Sea Level (a great place for a drink with a view of the ocean plus right on the boardwalk), Northeast (tucked in a shopping center but has great ambiance and food. I love the bar here)
In Fenwick – Just Hooked (a personal fav. It’s small and in a shopping center but I’ve never had a bad meal here), Catch 54 (another great place to go with a nice ambiance and views of the bayside), Crabcake Factory (for the amazing crab cakes and bloody marys! Brett loves this place)
Family Friendly: Bandstand in Downtown Bethany
In Bethany– there really isn’t a whole bunch of shops in downtown Bethany other than your standard beach stores…But we love going to Yuppy Puppy with the dogs (shown above), or us girls love Gypsy Teal (very Anthropologie-esque), I always make sure I buy a book to read on the beach at Bethany Beach Books (a classic), and if you’re looking for a cool souvenir t-shirt or hoodie from a local surf shop go to Bethany Surf Shop (I’ve been going here for years).
In Rehoboth – In my opinion Rehoboth has the best shopping. There is the Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth which was always where we went to as a family on a rainy day…Great for back to school shopping! For me right now I would go to the Rehoboth Boardwalk where there are a bunch of really cute boutiques. A few favorites are: Coral Cove, South Moon Under, and Sole Boutique, and Quiet Storm.
