Do you have itchy dry skin? I get SO dry in the winter. So much so that I convince my husband to scratch my legs and back from time to time (he is always SO thrilled about it haha – not!) There are a select few products for body and hair that I’ve been using and loving the past few years to survive that winter itch. The one thing I look for in these products is how long they last before I have to re-apply them. If I feel like I have to keep re-applying them too much then it’s not a good thing in my book. Here are a few favorites I’ve tried and highly recommend to you:
Nourishing Body Wash: If your skin gets sensitive in the winter I would definitely recommend Aveeno Hydrating Body Wash because my skin never gets a weird reaction from it and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry after using it.
Moisturizing Body Scrub: My favorite body scrubs are ones that are thick and creamy! My two favorites are Darphin’s Perfecting Body Scrub and Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Body Polish. Both feel so luxurious.
Un-Scented Body Lotion: Kiehl’s Creme de Corps is the holy grail in body moisturizers in my opinion. There’re so many reasons why I love this product: it doesn’t smell, is great for all skin types including sensitive skin, isn’t sticky, and lasts all throughout the day. It is a little pricey but SO worth it. I buy it in bulk so it lasts all winter long!
A Great Hand Cream: Before I discovered M-61 Hydraboost Hand Cream I never had a great go-to hand cream that I liked. Most hand creams make your hands feeling greasy but this one doesn’t at all! Another one on the pricey side but its seriously amazing.
The Perfect Lip Balm: I’ve talked about the Sara Happ Lip Slip many times and it’s still my #1 favorite. Most lip balms seem to be more temporary fixes which causes me to re-apply a million times. This one is SO SO good. It goes great under lipstick, looks fab on its own, and lasts pretty much all day. I slather this on in the morning and never need to re-apply until I get home at night. Another great product to try 1-2x per week pre lip balm application is a lip scrub such as Sara Happ’s The Lip Scrub in Vanilla Bean.
Restorative Hair Mask for Dry Hair: Applying a hair mask is something I’ve been using off an on for the past two years. I went through a full bottle of Oribe’s Gold Lust Masque and loved it so much. I have recently been using and loving Morrocanoil Restorative Hair Mask. Both products are great for making hair look healthy and hydrated while also repairing breakage. It also serves to be a nice added treatment for tangly hair – a major plus for my thick mane. Since my ends is the part of my hair that gets dry, I only apply to my ends. My scalp has been oily lately so I’ve recently started trying Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub which is good for purifying hair caused by buildup from hair product and coloring. I have been using this once a week and I definitely see an improvement in keeping my scalp less oily.
