Merry Christmas from our family to yours! I hope you take the next few days or week to enjoy your time with friends and family. We have been hitting the ground running since we arrived in California exploring the Monterey coast and San Francisco. We are looking forward to slowing down the next two days and enjoying time with family.
Counting down until Christmas break? Me too…Every holiday season I love to embrace all my favorite holiday traditions. One of those traditions is baking my favorite Christmas cookie recipes. Nothing gets me in the spirit more than putting on a Christmas movie or listening to Christmas music while baking in the kitchen. It just makes my heart so happy. I also freaking love eating cookies and cookie batter for that matter! They also make such nice little treats when you package them up for neighbors, teachers, or distant relatives. Anyone would appreciate a delicious recipe.
If you’re in the baking spirit this weekend then you have to give one of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes a try. I make all 3 of these every year – especially the chocolate chip cookie recipe. We make them so many times throughout the year. It’s insane. Here you go!
The Only Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe You’ll Ever Need to Know – I’ve talked about this recipe multiple times and it’s still my favorite. The trick is to make sure you follow the measurements precisely (and at room temperature), use Ghirardelli 60% cacao chocolate chips and freeze the dough for more than 48 hours. Yep, you have to make them ahead!
BEST Snickerdoodle Cookies – This recipe is so good if you’re in the mood for some cinnamon. They are crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside (just how I like em). I’m not a sugar cookie fan so these are such a delicious alternative 🙂
Peanut Butter Blossoms – These cookies are a Christmas classic and this recipe will forever be my favorite because of how they literally melt in your mouth. I also love eating these cookies immediately when they come out of the oven because the Hershey kisses make the cookie nice and gooey.
What are your favorite cookie recipes to make over Christmas?
This post was originally going to be all about Christmas pajamas and which ones to buy but I’m honestly shopped out and worn out as I’m sure you might be too. As I get older this time of year can be mentally draining to put it short. High expectations to hit numbers at work while also running around every other weekend buying things or rushing from one place to the next. I don’t know about you but sometimes it can just feel draining ya know?
But then I’m reminded what this season is really all about. Those cherished moments with those near and dear make this season so great. Time is such a precious thing. It goes by so fast and it’s easy to get caught up in the noise. Quiet mornings spent in pajamas, sipping on coffee with my family is what makes me happiest. I feel so cheesy saying all this but reminding myself of this puts life into perspective whenever I feel worn down around this time. I hope you find a little inspiration in this too in case you’re feeling a little beat down at this point. Cherish the memories made with friends and family over the next 2 weeks. It’s ok to slow down and enjoy this time. Life’s too short not too!
