Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend celebrating 2016. Does anyone have any resolutions this year? I know, most people have at least one thing they would like to work on. I thought I would share the two resolutions I have on my mind for this year.
*The first resolution is one that is pretty typical: workout more! I know, so cliche right? Well, I have been wanting to get back on a workout routine for the past year or so. I played a lot of sports growing up but once I entered the working world I began to get pretty lazy. My goal is not to lose a lot of weight (although a few pounds off wouldn’t be the worst thing) but to amp up my energy level so I feel better both physically and mentally.
*The second resolution is one that is a little more difficult: teach my mind to think more positively. I’ll admit, I am a worrier. I worry about a lot of things: my career, my relationships with others, my self-esteem, making a mistake, saving money, the list goes on…There is constant chatter going on inside my head which leads to a lot of self-doubt. I am reminded of an old saying in basketball that is something to the effect of “the game is 90% mental and 10% physical”. I do believe there is a lot of truth in that! Which is why I want to get my mind to focus more on the up side of things which will help me establish a more balanced and positive outlook.
