Just a few fun iPhone photos from this past weekend with my mom and sister in DC. I didn’t have any outfit posts planned this week because I was trying to live in the moment this past weekend. Sometimes I struggle with getting the prettiest content ready for the blog but sometimes you just gotta roll with what you got ya know? I kind of miss the times where blogs were more off the cuff and not so glossy looking. The point of my blog is to show pretty outfits that I’m loving BUT I also love to share more non-fashion things that make me happy – things like a fun girls weekend!
We stayed at the new The Trump International Hotel located in the heart of the city. You guys, this hotel is gorgeous! It used to be DC’s historical Post Office and opened on 2016 so everything looks stunning and brand new. We arrived on Friday evening and received the warmest welcome from the doormen and front desk. The hotel room we stayed in was a 2 queen regular-sized room that exceeded any and all expectations. It is honestly the kind of hotel were you or don’t want to leave because you want to fully take advantage of your stay and all it’s amenities. My favorite part was the Benjamin Bar which takes over almost the entire ground level of the hotel filled with lush couches, fancy cocktails, and attentive serivice. Although expensive, it is worth the treat for a late night drink or two.
We didn’t have too many set plans other than eating good food, getting pampered, and catching up on life. On Friday we went to Nopa Kitchen + Bar for a late dinner. I liked my cocktail but thought the food was just ok. On Saturday I we took advantage of the hotel’s restaurant BLT Prime for brunch. It is a stunning spot that is mostly known for being a delicious steakhouse. We had a lovely time and the food was pretty good too! Next we took the elevator up to the clock tower of the hotel to see a 360 view of the city. After that we walked a little less than a mile to get mani-pedis at Persimmon Nail Spa which was much needed after a long winter! Next we did a little corporate shopping on F St and later grabbed a quick drink at The Smith – I loved the atmosphere here. We headed back to get ready and head to dinner at Central Michel Richard which was nice but I wasn’t a fan of my hanger steak unfortunately! We wrapped up dinner early so next went to back to the hotel to grab another cocktail at the Benjamin Bar. On Sunday we ended our weekend grabbing a quick breakfast at Le Pain on F Street which is always a cute go-to spot for a quiet bite.
Anyway, if anything I’m hoping to inspire you to make plans with your mom, sister, or friends soon. I think anyone and their mom would agree that spending time with the girls makes us happy! Brett and I spend so much time together that I think we both deserve a little time apart to spend with friends. Wouldn’t you agree?
