I don’t often change up my beauty routine but when a new season rolls around I tend to shake things up a bit. This time of year I am all about updating my color palette and going back to products that are better suited for the chillier weather. Here are a few favorites I am loving now –
Since the temperatures have dropped, my skin is already starting to get super dry so I’m placing my favorite lip balms and hand creams in all my favorite spots (my purse, by my bed, on my desk, and on our coffee table). I have had this lip balm from Sara Happ since last winter and I’m obsessed. It has a hefty price tag but this stuff works and it will probably last another winter season. I hate when I get a lip balm that only works when its on and I need to keep reapplying it multiple times throughout the day. I only need to apply this stuff once in the morning and my lips are good for the rest of the day.
Summer is all about that dewy glow but for fall I like my face to have more of a soft matte finish that still looks natural. I really love adding Laura Mercier’s Loose Setting Powder all over my face after I apply my tinted moisturizer, blush, and bronzer. It makes your overall color look more put together and it gives you a soft clean finish. I know what your thinking – another step? Yes. It is one of those products that you have to see to believe it. It also makes your makeup last longer throughout the day which is an added bonus!
Most days I only wear my favorite Eye Base Essentials from Trish McEvoy on my eyes. It covers up any discoloration on the eyelid yet has a really natural finish (great for work days). But when I know I am going out to dinner and drinks, I have been loving this new eye palette from Smith and Cult to fancy up my look. The formula is super smoothing and goes on like butter. This particular one has a beautiful mix of matte pinks and mauve-y purples with really some really fun sparkly shades. Love!
Don’t we all love a new lip color for fall? I am not one to wear a loud lip color most days but I am always on the hunt for a basic brownish pink nude that is neutral enough to wear during the day. I came across Mac’s Lipstick in Velvet Teddy a few months ago and I am obsessed! It goes great with one of my favorite lip liners from Trish McEvoy. I wear a lot of greens, taupes, and beiges in the fall and this color is universally flattering with all of these.
Last but not least, I can’t get enough of all the dark nail polishes that scream fall. Who doesn’t? I love deep plums, dark reds, and moody grey colors but have recently been obsessed with this deep green color from Smith and Cult. I am also eyeing this rusty orange nail polish from OPI. What do you think?
Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Halloween!
