Springtime is the best time to focus on the classics. I feel like a broken record but I truly believe this because winter seems to linger on into early spring. If you’re going to buy something this time of year you might as well buy something that you can wear now, wear later, and wear forever you know? Spring is honestly the shortest season of all and it’s the strangest season here in DC. I feel like we get 1-2 weeks of spring and then it starts to feel like summer.
It’s hard to believe March officially starts this Friday. It’s right around this time of year where I crave spring but I know March still feels like winter with the occasional surprise snow storm mixed in. Right now you should really focus on the classic pieces that are timeless and are great for these transitional months.
I talked A LOT about spring classics that I swear by recently like the navy blazer, these 3 spring basics, and 5 ways to wear a denim jacket. Today I’m revisiting the long-sleeve knit. It sounds super boring to say but ever since I started picking up a few long-sleeve knits I realized just how much I wear them and need them most days. If you’re a jacket and sweater girl like me then you appreciate the layers that go underneath. I bet you have a void of these in your closet as I did but I’m here to give you a few options to buy so you are prepared when putting together your early spring outfits. I’ve been loving henley’s lately (also love this one) and you really can’t go wrong with a simple long-sleeve cotton shirt like this one that would work great with any jacket or cardigan.
