Hi there! This weekend was a really good one for us. We headed to my family’s beach condo and had the best time…making it was SO hard to leave! It is probably going to be our last weekend there this summer because Brett and I are going to be traveling off and on until the end of September. I have been going to Bethany Beach almost every year since I was a little kid so it holds a very special piece in my heart.
Summer (as always) just flew by but I do feel like I made the most of it this year and lived in the moment as much as possible. No matter how many things I put on my summer bucket list I always make a point to visit Bethany as often as I can, weather permitting. It was bittersweet walking the boardwalk, eating my favorite frozen custard (w/ rainbow sprinkles – yes, I will never grow up), and saying goodbye to the ocean yesterday. Haha – I am such a sap!
But in all honesty – it is so nice to take moments like those and truly live in the moment. Brett and I are coming up on our one year anniversary in a few weeks. We spent our first year of marriage enjoying being selfish without any responsibility but ourselves. We both want a family one day and with that brings less freedom to do whatever we please. So when I was spending a few hours on the beach by myself yesterday I really tried to embrace the moment because I started to think about how moments like those might be rare one day.
However you decide to celebrate the end of summer take a moment to reflect upon the beautiful moments as they happen. Especially when you find yourself in a beautiful place or enjoying a fun night out with friends. While we have fall and football season just around the corner, there is something sad about summer coming to an end. Try it to live it up these last few weeks and do whatever it is that will make you happy and don’t forget to live in the moment – you will thank me later!
