On the weekends you can find Brett and I at any of these restaurants. They are all within close walking distance to where we live and are easily metro accessible. We love them so much, we end up rotating through these every weekend. If you find yourself in the Ballston or Virginia Square metro area in Virginia, I couldn’t recommend these enough! There is so much great food in the city and we are always looking to explore a new place so be on the lookout for future restaurant picks in other parts of the city.
Water and Wall – The best for using the most unique ingredients (think southern style food with a Korean twist. The shrimp and grits are to die for!) and they rotate their menu often based on seasonality which is always a plus for me.
Rustico – Best for pizza (I swear the secret is in the sauce…Recently I have been loving the white pizza) and an extensive draft beer list that is ever changing.
Mussel Bar – Best wholesome meal (we love getting the crab dip and any of the mussels with a side of frites (which come with 3 different dipping sauces!). Also, their specials are pretty amazing.
Yona – Best asian fusion with a menu full of smaller bites (get the steamed buns and the dry-friend wings) and of course – ramen (The ‘miso porky’ is my favorite).
Have a great weekend friends!
