Happy Friday! I hope you have a great weekend ahead! We are sticking around again this weekend but will hopefully go for a few long walks in old town and grill out. It seems to be our new favorite routine to go to the farmer’s market on Saturday mornings. We get up so early with Sadie these days that we end up walking there as soon as it opens at 7AM. Something I highly recommend because it gets super busy during peak hours.
This summer has been full of cooking at home on the weekends and my favorite part of summer is taking advantage of the fresh local produce. I almost always pick up juicy red tomatoes to put in burgers, salads, or veggie sautés. I have also been getting zucchini because they go great pan fried with cherry tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and salt&pepper served with your favorite white fish or chicken. I’ll also get corn on the cob because well, summer and they make such a great side with burgers and hot dogs. I’ll also pick up a fruit such as peaches, plums, or nectarines. Tis the season after all! I made this plum tart recipe last weekend and it was delicious topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I also love trying new recipes and here are a few summer inspired ones that are on my radar to make before the season ends! What do you love to make this summer? Please share any great recipes I should try! Have a great weekend everyone!
