January is the coldest month of the year making it the best time to focus on your skincare routine. My beauty routine hardly changes but I make a few tweaks as the seasons change. The routine I’m going to walk you through is the best for dry sensitive skin.
Bioderma Hydrabio H2O Micellar Water Cleansing and Makeup Removing Solution – This stuff is crazy good at removing makeup. Like SO good. It’s not terribly expensive either so you have to just see it for yourself. I use a cotton ball or two and start with removing my eye makeup then go to my face. It’s the only makeup remover I’ve tried that is effective and doesn’t irritate my skin. I typically only use this at night.
Dermalogica Ultracalming Facial Cleanser – I recently just started using this cleanser because a esthetician used it on my face recently in a mini facial. My skin is pretty sensitive in the winter and it can get pinkish-red. The gel like formula is super soothing on the skin making it great for the winter months.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant – This is a cult classic and best seller of the Dermalogica brand. In the winter my skin can’t handle a harsh peel or exfoliator but this one is so good for sensitive skin types. You can even use it daily. The formula is so interesting too because it comes out as a soft powder. You activate it my mixing it with a touch of water so it creates a paste. The trick is to apply to your face using circular motions for at least a minute and you’re good to go. Exfoliating in the winter is SO crucial because our skin tends to get dryer so this one is perfect to use if your skin is on the sensitive side. If I have time in the morning I’ll do this but I mostly do this at night.
Darphin Intral Serum – I keep going back to this serum every winter. It’s such a good one for sensitive skin that gets red in the winter. It’s also great for rosacea. I apply two drops to my face every morning before moisturizer. The Intral line from Darphin is SO SO good for sensitive skin. My mom is also a big fan.
La Mer Creme de la Mer – This is the holy grail of moisturizers in my opinion. Yes it’s expensive but believe me it’s worth the splurge – especially in the winter. When I stray away I always come back to this. It’s ultra hydrating for dry skin while giving you a healthy glow! It’s seriously amazing. I also notice less breakouts when I use this moisturizer.
Darphin 8 Flower Nectar – I LOVE an oil for nighttime use. It not only hydrates but plumps and gives you skin a really healthy glow to it. by the time you wake up. It also smells AMAZING. Your skin will look super refreshed in the morning when you apply it at night.
Fresh Rose Face Mask – I’ve mentioned this mask before but I’m calling it out again because it has been something I’ve been reaching for as of late to soothe and hydrate my skin. I love a mask for an extra pick me up treatment.
Sara Happ Lip Slip – Also mentioning this product for the one millionth time because it the BEST lip balm especially in the winter months.
