Yellow Off The Shoulder Dress

May 23, 2016

IMG_4367IMG_4371IMG_4394IMG_4380IMG_4391IMG_4384IMG_4406

Dress: Cupcakes and Cashmere (also available here. PS: runs a little big, I am wearing an XS), Sandals: The Frye Company, Earrings: Lou Lou’s, Clutch/Wallet: Nordstroms (old similar here)

Hello and happy Monday! Let’s starting counting down the days until the long weekend, shall we? We just came back from West Palm Beach yesterday. Neither of us had been there before so it was great to explore a new spot and catch some much needed sun. Everyday we enjoyed long walks on the beach, followed by hours of sunbathing, and ended our days with yummy seafood dinners. I wish we could have stayed there a few days longer but I am happy we were able to catch a quick break before the busy summer we have planned.

I made sure to pack a lot of bright colors for this trip after a long winter and a rainy spring. I spotted this dress from Emily Schuman’s Cupcakes and Cashmere clothing line and knew it would be perfect for this trip. I had been reluctant to buy into the hype of the off the shoulder trend lately but with this price I couldn’t refuse. I find yellow can be a hard color with my hair and skin type but it actually turned out to be the perfect compliment after having gotten a hint of color from the sun. To punch up this look even further, I wanted to add colorful pops of coral with my earrings and clutch but keep my shoes neutral. This outfit was ultra comfortable and super fun to wear while at the beach. I know I will be reaching for this dress more this summer while enjoying a evening cocktail in the hot summer heat.
